G35/350Z API Performance Equal Length Long Tube Headers | VQ35DE

Long tube headers are one of the most effective ways to unlock real power on the VQ35DE. The stock exhaust manifolds are a choke point—short runners and early collectors severely restrict flow. This upgrade replaces that bottleneck with long, smooth runners and properly tuned collectors that dramatically improve scavenging and increase top-end horsepower. After tuning, we’ve seen dyno gains of 18-24 horsepower that have been achieved from this mod alone, without factoring in other mods.

While header and test pipe combos can deliver noticeable gains, a true long tube header setup takes things further. By extending the runner length and optimizing collector placement, these headers unlock more power throughout the rev range—especially in the midrange and high RPMs, where the VQ engine is known to transform when properly unlocked.

Each header is constructed from 304 stainless steel, TIG-welded for strength and durability. At the top, the individual runners measure 1 5/8 inches in diameter, optimized for balance between flow and velocity. At the base, a 2.5-inch collector merges the exhaust gases cleanly into your Y-pipe for maximum efficiency. A 15/32-inch thick flange ensures a solid, leak-free seal at the head—no warping or failure under heat and pressure. This setup bolts directly from the engine to the Y-pipe, replacing both the OEM manifolds and catalytic converters in one go.
