The VQPlug Ti-Phoon Pipes are the final word in test pipe design for the VQ35HR platform. Built from precision-formed titanium and engineered with a back pressure-free quarter-wave resonator, these test pipes are designed to increase exhaust flow while reducing unwanted in-cabin resonance.

Each unit is constructed with a quarter-wave resonated chamber tuned to counter drone frequencies common to the VQ35HR under light load and cruising conditions. The result is a cleaner, sharper exhaust note that retains volume and character — without introducing additional resonance at steady throttle. 

The VQPlug Ti-Phoon pipes weigh significantly less than comparable stainless steel units, weighing in at less than 6 pounds for the PAIR- all while offering the corrosion resistance, strength, and higher-pitched sound titanium is known for. 

 While spot welding is often the quickest and most economical method for joining pie-cut sections, it is not suitable for titanium, where precision and structural integrity are critical. Titanium requires careful welding to avoid weak points, and improper techniques can compromise the strength and longevity of the pipe. The VQPlug Ti-Phoon Pipes address this challenge with a full purge welding process, applied to both the interior and exterior seams. By injecting argon gas during welding, each pipe achieves superior strength, durability, and a flawless finish inside and out — eliminating the typical weak points and delivering some of the highest-quality titanium welds available in the industry.
