Competition-Use Parts Agreement Policy

You are viewing this policy because you are attempting to purchase a product that is explicitly designated as Competition Use Only and not legal for use on public roads. You are required to read, understand, and affirmatively agree to the terms contained herein by checking the required box. You will not be able to complete your purchase without doing so.

By purchasing these products, you agree and acknowledge that:

1. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any modifications comply with all applicable local, state, and federal emissions and safety regulations.
2. You understand that removal, modification, or replacement of emissions-related components (including catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, and EGR systems) may be illegal for use on public roadways under EPA and CARB regulations.
3. You agree not to use any non-compliant parts on vehicles that are operated on public roads, and you assume all responsibility and liability for any such use.
4. VQplug does not guarantee that any product complies with emissions laws or vehicle codes in your jurisdiction.
5. You release and indemnify VQplug, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any liability associated with improper installation or illegal use of any product purchased from us.

If you are unsure about the legality of a product in your area, consult your local authorities before purchasing or installing it.

1. PURPOSE OF COMPETITION USE PRODUCTS

The products to which this policy applies are designed, manufactured, and marketed solely for closed-course competition use, off-road recreational use, or sanctioned motorsport applications. These products are not certified for use on public highways, streets, or any on-road vehicle that is subject to emissions control regulations.

If you intend to install or use these parts on a vehicle that will be driven on public roads, you are hereby instructed not to proceed with this purchase.

VQplug and VQplug.com do not authorize, encourage, condone, or knowingly facilitate the installation or use of Competition Use Only products in violation of any federal or state emissions laws or vehicle code requirements.

2. FEDERAL EMISSIONS LAW (U.S. EPA)

Pursuant to the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. § 7401 et seq.), it is a federal offense to remove, disable, bypass, or render inoperative any emissions control device on a vehicle that is certified for highway use.

Use or installation of Competition Use Only products on such vehicles may result in significant civil penalties, criminal enforcement, or other regulatory actions by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Buyer acknowledges that VQplug does not sell these products for such unlawful purposes, and further agrees to accept all liability if Competition Use Products are misused in violation of federal law.

3. STATE-SPECIFIC LAWS: CALIFORNIA AND OTHERS

States including, but not limited to, California, New York, and Colorado, enforce emissions laws through agencies like the California Air Resources Board (CARB). In such jurisdictions, installing or using a Competition Use Only product on a pollution-controlled vehicle without a valid CARB Executive Order (EO) exemption is strictly prohibited under state law.

You acknowledge and agree that:

You are responsible for verifying whether a product is legal for use in your state;
You will not install Competition Use Products on any vehicle registered for street use unless the product carries a valid EO number;
VQPlug will not be held responsible for any fines, legal action, or enforcement consequences resulting from your misuse of a product.

We reserve the right to refuse shipment of certain products to California or other emissions-restricted states.

4. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) & SAFETY STANDARDS

Certain Competition Use Products may not meet the safety standards established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or equivalent state-level authorities. These may include, but are not limited to, lighting, braking, and suspension components.

Installation of such parts on vehicles operated on public roadways may violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and applicable state codes. You agree to assume all legal risks and responsibilities associated with such modifications.

5. LIABILITY DISCLAIMER & BUYER ASSUMPTION OF RISK

You agree to the following:

You are purchasing this product solely for lawful, competition-only, or off-road use;
You understand that any installation or use of this product in violation of emissions or safety regulations is entirely at your own risk;
You will not hold VQplug, its owners, affiliates, employees, or partners liable for any civil or criminal penalties, fines, vehicle impoundments, or legal actions resulting from improper use.

You further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VQplug against any and all third-party claims, damages, enforcement actions, or liabilities that arise as a result of your actions or misuse of any Competition Use Only product.

6. PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION & COLLECTION

All Competition Use Only products are:

Clearly marked with a disclaimer on their product page;
Tagged accordingly in our backend system;
Categorized under a dedicated collection:

This list is updated periodically and serves as a reference for products not intended for public roadway use.

7. NO IMPLIED APPROVAL

The presence of Competition Use Only Products on our website does not imply they are legal for street use. Even if a product is technically compatible with your vehicle, that does not make it legal under emissions or safety law.

No statement, image, or user-generated content (e.g. customer photos, reviews, videos) on our website or social media channels shall be construed as an endorsement of illegal on-road use.

8. AGREEMENT RECORD & ENFORCEABILITY

Your agreement to this policy is required at the point of sale. A record of your acceptance, including date/time and IP address, is stored as proof of your acknowledgment and consent. This policy forms a legally binding agreement between you and VQplug.

Your continued use of this website and/or completion of your purchase constitutes full, irrevocable acceptance of the terms herein and in our Terms of Service.
